ITER site visit & excursions

From the ITER site visit to industrial and touristic excursions, these activities are offered free of charge to IBF/27 participants, subject to availability.

Get a closer look at one of the world’s most ambitious scientific and technological projects.
As part of IBF/27, participants will have the opportunity to visit the ITER site on Friday, 16 April 2027, and discover how science, industry and engineering come together to advance fusion energy.
This visit will offer a first-hand look at the scale of the ITER site, its technological and industrial challenges, and the international collaboration behind its development.
Please note that an official identity document will be required to access the ITER site and will need to be provided in advance as part of the registration process.

Explore the innovation and artificial intelligence hub in the South of France
Step into the heart of European innovation with an exclusive visit to Sophia Antipolis, Europe’s first science and technology park, and discover how artificial intelligence is shaping the future of business, research, and society. You will be able to visit a globally recognized innovation hub and one of Europe’s leading centers for technology, research, and entrepreneurship.
Located in the heart of Sophia Antipolis, the House of Artificial Intelligence (Maison de l’IA) is a unique departmental initiative in France and Europe, launched under the leadership of President Charles Ange Ginésy. The House of Artificial Intelligence is part of the SMART Deal digital transformation program, the Alpes-Maritimes strategy focused on innovation, technological sovereignty, and bridging the digital divide.
Through this immersive experience, discover the fundamentals of artificial intelligence with the guidance of a scientific mediator. Explore around thirty interactive demonstrations designed to provide a first introduction to AI, its applications, its potential biases, and the opportunities it offers for businesses. Participants will also gain insights into the support and resources available to help companies adopt and leverage AI technologies.

Discover Cannes beyond its famous Croisette with a guided walking tour through the historic heart of the city.
From the picturesque Suquet district and its panoramic views over the bay to the colourful Forville Market, explore the authentic side of Cannes before strolling back towards the iconic Palais des Festivals and La Croisette.

Sea Excursion – The Calanques of the French Riviera
Set sail from Mandelieu-La Napoule aboard a Black Tenders boat and discover the spectacular coastline of the French Riviera from the sea.
Cruise along the red volcanic cliffs of the Estérel Massif, explore hidden coves and crystal-clear waters, and enjoy unique views of some of the Riviera’s most iconic coastal landmarks.
Weather permitting, the excursion will include a swimming and snorkelling stop in a secluded cove, offering the perfect opportunity to experience the Mediterranean at its best.

Fragonard Perfumery Experience – Grasse
Discover the world of French perfumery with an exclusive experience at the renowned Fragonard Perfumery in Grasse, the historic heart of the perfume industry.
Explore the secrets of fragrance creation and learn more about the flowers, raw materials and traditional savoir-faire behind some of the most iconic scents.
The experience will conclude with a creative workshop, where participants will have the opportunity to compose and customise their own Eau de Toilette (12 ml) to take home.
